2011 Easton SSR2 Stealth Speed XL Review

Inside information told us that Easton didn't exactly like losing a ton of money in 2009 on their ASA reveal line of bats. They basically told the ASA they were either going to be allowed to make their bats according to the older hotter standard or they were pulling out of making any more ASA softball bats. This year's bats validate that information as they are definitely hotter than 98MPH when broken in.

Easton has done a great job on their 2011 ASA bats. They break in much quicker and have excellent pop and distance. Some minor durability issues seem to be the tradeoff though. These and all of the 2011 Easton ASA bats can develop small lines that appear to be cracks in the paint. They don't seem to be immediately related to the bat's structural integrity though and will still perform at the same level even with the small paint cracks. It doesn't happen on every bat but don't get too upset if it happens to yours. The Stealth has always been one of Easton's top performing bats. Medium amount of handle flex, which like the DeMarini Juggernauts can take some getting used to. "XL" stands for extra long sweet spot, which is 13.5" (most bats are 11"-12").

Sweetspot: 10.0
Distance: 9.2
Durability: 8.5
